The classic prop known as the Silk Wonder Box has been around for at least a century (and without checking my library references, I would even bet it was invented over 150 years ago).   

This is a shiny chrome metal version, modelled on the classic design that I think was popularized by Davenports Magic if memory serves...   

The prop is much easier to use than it is to photograph, so my apologies for not showing it very well.  You can see better how it is handled in some of the illustrations on the instruction sheet in the photos (if you look closely)

The small box is held in your palm, and the top door is opened, then the back and front doors also, so the audience sees right through the box.   Close the doors and say the magic words, open the top and produce a silk. 

Load capacity is limited, but I like to use my own Wonder box as a "woofle dust container".   Open it up, discover I'm all out of woofle dust, but close it up, and a moment later, open the top and shake out a bunch of the magical dust (confetti).

A nice added quickie for any routine you need woofle dust or a single silk produced
