An updated version of the beginner's "mystic cords" pocket trick, in which a cord (that runs through two plastic bars) is severed and restored. In this version the bars can truly be shown separated, and so it makes this previously non-deceptive pocket trick VERY deceptive. It begins like a sucker effect, but the pillars are cleanly separated at the end to show the cord does run directly through the holes and not down and around the bottom (as it did in the old fashioned mystic cord trick.)
Show the two pillars, held together and aligned, and pull the cord back and forth through the holes that run through the top end of the pillars. Slide a business card or playing card between the pillars, apparently severing the cord -- spread the pillars like a "V", clearly showing the severed ends of the cord. Put the pillars together (aligned) and pull the cord back and forth. But now, (when the spectators think the cord runs down to the bottom and across inside the pillars), the pillars are separated to show the cord truly runs straight across through the holes at the top end.
I hate the packaging that Tenyo was using during this time (released in 1996), since it is basically only a green cardboard backing and a poly bag. Nice to see they went back to more interesting and colorful packaging in recent years.
This is complete with the package (which I have already commented on), and original instruction sheets.
