In the early 1990's, Black Hat Magic (Taiwan) put out this inexpensive (plastic) version of the Die-Cypher effect.   (see Mental Die Divination in the Mental section for a metal version).  Like all Black Hat Magic items, it has become very hard to find, and quite collectible.

 The effect is simple:  a die with faces on each side -- happy face, sad face, mad face -- is placed by spectator into an opaque cylindrical box while mentalist-magi is not looking.  In the action of lifting the box to your forehead (even if you are blindfolded) you learn the "value" of the die that faces up.  Because the die features faces instead of numbers or symbols, you can patter about emotions, and ability to read other people's inner emotions, etc.  

I like this one, though it is not en par with more original Black Hat Magic items, it is still a good pocket effect.    Brand new, never used from very old (but still new) ex-dealer inventory
