There are a lot of "one out of four" prediction effects, and although they are puzzling, the odds involved fail to make them overly impressive. In this prediction, the color combinations on the cards SEEM to make the prediction more complicated than a simple one out of four. And the method, which allows for a single prediction to match any of the freely selected color card combinations, makes the outcome very clean and very baffling.
What it looks like: four cards, each with a pair of colored spots, are placed face up on the table, and one prediction card in put facedown. The spectator chooses any one of the faceup cards (no force, no equivoque, etc). The prediction card is turned up and it matches the two color spots on the selection exactly. Use a presentational hook of giving the spectator $100 if you are wrong, to heighten the risk involved, and now this becomes a pretty impressive piece of shirt-pocket mentalism.
Also, I find the item plays well for kids because of the color spot cards and simple premise.
