The effect: Magi shows a red-backed jumbo card, which is folded in half, face inwards. He also hands a blue backed deck to the spectator to shuffle as much as she wants. Once the deck is shuffled, the magi takes it back, and begins to toss cards from the top of the blue deck, facedown onto folded jumbo card. He tosses cards one-at-a-time onto the folded jumbo, then flips the facedown card off the jumbo and faceup onto the table. This continues until the spectator calls out stop -- she calls stop any time she wants, no influence from the magi or any other source. It is a completely free choice. Because 10, 20, or 30 cards have already been flipped faceup, the spectators can see that every card in the blue deck is different, and that any card might have been chosen. But the magic calls attention to the single blue backed card, facedown on the folded jumbo. The magician shows the face of that card -- it is the 2 of clubs. The folded jumbo is opened -- it also is the 2 of Clubs.
Dan Harlan teaches an ungimmicked version of this effect on one of his DVDs, and in fact, you can also find an ungimmicked version in the Mark Wilson Course of Magic. But this GIMMICKED version does have some very strong advantages: the folded jumbo prediction is cleanly shown on both sides when you bring it out, so it is very obvious (apparently) that the only blue backed poker cards are the ones in the deck; plus you can handle the jumbo card naturally and without any worries. There is also something inherently interesting about the folded nature of the prediction -- although you could fold your prediction in the ungimmicked version, it would significantly increase the difficulty.
