RAMBLINGS & REVELATIONS by Andy Leviss  (paper, mint condition, signed by author) 2002 2nd edition.   49 pages

I know we all like to learn new tricks, so when we get a "magic book" (for those of us who still know that books are the best way to learn, and still buy magic books!)... when we get a "magic book", we want it to be filled with lots of cool new tricks.  Or at least that one trick which the authors and magic dealers love to tout as "worth the price of the book!"

Well, first off, this book is technically not a "magic book", it is a mentalism book.  But when  we buy a new mentalism book, we still want to find those great new tricks!

Well, this book has no tricks in it at all.  But that is exactly why you should buy it.  Because there are plenty of other books with tricks in them, and instead, this book offers thoughtful ideas and questions about HOW TO PRESENT YOUR ACT, YOUR SELF, AND YOUR MENTALISM.   It is a collection of essays which should make you consider some of the most important aspects of being a mentalist (or a magician presenting mental magic -- the book spends a few essays discussing this important distinction).

Learning tricks is important -- but learning how to analyze and think about how you present to, and have an effect upon, your audience.   Even if you don;t agree with everything Leviss puts forth, you will learn from considering and understanding your point of disagreement.

And although this book is definitely focused on Mentalism, if you are not into mentalism or mental magic, you can still apply the thinking to how you approach your performances of Magic as well.

This one is in new (mint) condition, tight and unmarked, with signed autograph by Andy Leviss on the title page.
