A great find for collectors of vintage magic from Japan -- this is a Tricks Co, Ltd "Wonder Dice" from their early 1970s "Pocket Magic Series". It was found among some ex-dealer inventory, and other than some minor shelf wear on the package, the item is otherwise new and unused. It is a nicely routined version of the classic Die Tunnel effect, with an enhanced visual aspect.
The effect: two dice are shown and they are placed into a small hard-plastic "tunnel" -- first die is placed into the tunnel with a five upwards, and the second is placed in right behind it, with the One upwards. There is no extra room in the tunnel -- the dice fit in very snugly, just loose enough to slide through it. There is a "window" in the top of the tunnel near each end, so the spectators can see the Five and then One even after the dice are inside the tunnel. Then the tunnel is tipped toward the other end, and when the dice reach the window at the other end, the One is ahead of the Five! The dice emerge from the tunnel, somehow having switched places inside!
This effect can be repeated.
If you know the classic die tunnel effect and method, this is the same, but comes with a clever routine, and also the enhancement of putting a top-window at each end of the tunnel heightens the effect immensely.
Good pocket magic, plus a very collectible piece for Tenyo/Tricks Co/Japan Magic collectors. Complete unused items from the Pocket Magic series are very tough to find. Collector alert!
Complete with package and original instructions, props in unused condition -- I carefully un-did the staples to take out the props for examination and photo.
